MUSIC: Mi'das - All Inside Your Head

Brighton born artist, Mi'das, is releasing an 11 track album, "All Inside Your Head". Exploring different sides of soul music, Mi'das has created a beautiful album, keeping a perfect balance of fun and simply gorgeous songs such as 'Twilight'. With each track you can hear his passion for music as well as influences from artist such as Elton John and Gregory Porter.

With recognisable songs such as 'Too Little Too Late' and 'Feels Like Only Yesterday' there's still plenty of new songs to sink your teeth into. With his ability to create unique, classic sounding music with a modern flare he has managed to nail that timeless quality to his music firmly, once again.

Mi'das knows how to create drama within his music which is shown on opening track, 'Justice'. A powerful ballad reminding me a little of Jessie J's 'Mama Knows Best' in drama, the track is a wonderful introduction to the rest of the album. In juxtaposition the sweet track, 'Twilight', you are able to hear the simplicity and the wonderful song writing created by Mi'das showing off his talent and how he's not hiding behind theatrics.

As well as slowing his tracks down, Mi'das can also have fun with music which he demonstrates on 'Feels Like Only Yesterday', 'If I Were You' and 'Get On Up'. These tracks, in particular the latter, have a lot more swing and jazz feel and lighten the mood of the rest of the album.

One of the stand out tracks, in my opinion is the softly sung 'Grace' (Feat Nate Williams), it leaves me with shivers and has a magical atmosphere. Attempting something very different with the track, Mi'das has kept it very simple and airy which adds to the beauty of the track. 'Grace' sounds completely different to the rest of the album, with a softness and innocence to the music.

As well as creating a beautifully written and incredibly sung album, Mi'das helps to inspire us all, with 'This Year' describing how he's changing and 'going to shout it from the rooftops' and living the life you want to live. Only a piano supporting him, his vocals are showing off their full range as he belts out the final notes. It's the perfect end to the album before his live track of 'Everybody's Changing' leaving his audiences anticipating more to come from the future. FASHION: Cosy and Comfy

Most days when I'm not at work I'm sat at home in my pjs and dressing gown watching hours of TV. However, sometimes I do manage to venture outside and lately I've been wanting to stay very comfy. Anything that's easy enough to throw on that keeps me warm is my go to style. Especially lately I've been trying to shop a little less and get staples in my wardrobe that I know will last and I know I'm really comfortable in. For me, if I'm comfy I feel a lot more confident in myself. The  other day myself and Scott took a drive to Rufford Abbey, once again.

Rufford Abbey has fastly became one of my favourite places to visit. Like I've said before I feel very relaxed in the country side and surrounded by wildlife, trees and lakes. You can also wander around the abbey itself and the park is completely child and push chair friendly. With clear pathways, though if  you stray off them you can get lost and go on a little adventure. There's also a cafe and playground for you to make a day of it.

MUSIC: Vanessa Forero - Same Boat

Multi-talented Vanessa Forero has just released her music video for 'Same Boat' a single off her new EP 'From the Uproar' set to be released on the 28th March. The Indie/Folk singer touches on her Latino roots to create a unique sound to her new EP which she wrote and produced herself.

The British/Columbian singer-songwriter has created a foot tapping track with 'Same Boat' a song about how timing is everything. The song still holds an optimistic sound to it, and paints an instant smile upon your face, with the use of playful Latino instruments, Vanessa Forero has got herself a completely unique track. Along with her unique sound, she has a wide range when it comes to her vocals. Quickly changing from high to low and slower paces to faster. This only adds to the fun within the song. It's incredibly well written and produced as well as being catchy.

The music video follows the style of the song, in its quirky feel. Starting out playing to a cut out crowd sat in boat on stage picking at her guitar, with a country bar feel to the atmosphere. Gradually, she is taken by mermaids and transformed into one herself. It's a very fun music video and does the song complete justice.

Listening the rest of 'From the Uproar' the quality in the music is equally as brilliant as 'Same Boat'. All the songs have that Indie/Folk feel to them. 'Heaven Knows' is a little bit more deeper and gives me shivers. It has a very distant feel to it and a darker sound which is the complete opposite to 'Same Boat'. 'I'll Be Wrong Again' is a little sweeter sounding. Slower than 'Same Boat' it tells a story about wanting to be brave even if you get it wrong. Completely beautiful in it's own right and showing off Forero's talent. My favourite track on the EP 'Raven' has more of her Columbian influences opposed to the previous track. With a haunting feel to the song, the song is very powerful. The entire EP is incredible. It's beautifully written and produced, and her vocals are gorgeous throughout especially on the final track singing in Spanish for 'Anhela'. Forero has demonstrated on this EP that she can do anything with her music. Check out her EP on the 28th March and you won't be disappointed.

MUSIC: Jamie Moon - Oh, My Heart

Jamie Moon, a Nottingham based musician has recently released his new EP 'Oh, My Heart' and with an indie cool sound to the EP it was something that definitely caught my attention in the mix of music that I listen to lately. Going back to my roots Jamie Moon's latest release definitely hits home with me in that respect. The five track EP deals with every aspect of love someone can go through and it's wonderful to be able to go on this journey with the artist.

'Oh, My Heart' has a clear direction from the start, with an almost softly spoken voice, there are clear influences from Ben Howard but without sounding like he's imitating the already established artist. Singing about his own experiences it's hard to not get captivated by Jamie Moon's lyrics and unique voice.

'Bloom' the opening track obviously describing the beginning of a new relationship and watching it blossoming. With an acoustic sound to all his tracks, this has a bit more depth with an airy voice coming through every now and again, the arrangement of this song is gorgeous. It sounds very cautious like you are when you first get into a relationship. Towards the end it builds into a crescendo as if he's finally telling the person how he feels. Incredibly romantic.

'Wallflower' starts more upbeat with an easy going vibe to the acoustic track. Very pop, the song sounds effortlessly cool and cheerful. 'Falling to pieces around you, what you doing to me' finally opening up and admitting his own feelings and wanting them to want him too. It's a very hopeful song that will no doubt have you smiling.

The title track is up next. 'Oh, My Heart' is a lot softer and a lot moodier. Depicting how he will 'meet you anywhere' and do anything for the person, to me it sounds like a song of holding on when maybe the other person isn't. I imagine this to sound incredible live, the intensity that Jamie Moon could no doubt get into it would make for an amazing performance.

'Fear For Your Life' is next starting with that simply acoustic guitar and finger picking. A track about moving on in your life and making  more commitments to a person and how it can be scary. With the sound of a drum that sounds like a heartbeat makes it intense and sound a bit edgier and rockier. This is my favourite track on the EP. It's something that I'm definitely relating to a lot at the moment but it also sounds very positive. The track is also completely open and honest which helps Jamie Moon stand out. This is such an incredible stand out track and it's easy to see why he's gathering a supportive following.

The final track on the EP is 'The Day We Met' a heartbreaking account of how he fell for her when he first met her 'can't help but notice you were sad, from the moment that we met'. It's beautifully written and will be pulling at your heartstrings no doubt. You can buy Jamie Moon's 'Oh, My Love' EP here.

FASHION: Winter Walks

Like I said in my previous post, I've been really into going on walks lately. Myself and Scott had a day off together and so we decided to take a wander around Vicar Water which isn't far from where we live. We've gone for a few walks lately and I just love them. I really relax and though we don't always talk loads when we go on them, I love watching Scott taking pictures of the ducks and trying to capture the perfect shot. Plus going off the 'tracks' and discovering other places and capturing cool pictures even though I feel incredibly scared at the time.

I would definitely recommend having a wander around Vicar Waters if you're in the area, though it was a dry day when we went it was incredibly muddy so I wouldn't recommend heeled boots like I wore. We even saw a rabbit which I got a little too excited about.

MUSIC: Savannah Dumetz - Naked

Today's music post comes in the form of London vocalist Savannah Dumetz and 'Naked'. With a vintage sound to both her music and her voice she is completely vulnerable in the soulful track. The soulful singer has managed to create an open and honest debut single and a honest account of self loving. Its a beautifully written track and achieves what Savannah  has set out to do which is 'encourage empowerment' saying herself that she is 'a lady who has taken control of her dreams, I refuse to give up'. Something that we can all learn from Savannah and listening to Naked is definitely encouraging that.

The song has a very classic and old school / early r'n'b sound to it. Its very delicate and allows Savannah to show off her voice incredibly well using her entire range. With a voice that reminds me a little of Emeli Sande and Demi Lovato it's not a surprising that Savannah Dumetz has been creating such a buzz online. Telling her own stories in her music, Savannah is creating music that is universal and resonating with many people. Along with a classic sound, people young and old are able to appreciate her music. She is currently working on her album which will no doubt be a standout.
