LIFE: A Shopping Trip in Nottingham

A little while ago now, me and my boyfriend managed to get some time off together and decided to do some retail therapy in Nottingham. I didn't take many photos mostly because I was taken up with shopping and I simply wanted to enjoy my day. The weather wasn't particularly bright and it was quite cloudy all day which meant that our initial plans to wander up to Nottingham Castle wasn't something we wanted to do. But I'm sure we will visit soon because it's been years since I've been and I like history.
Instead we simply headed for the shops. As it was the middle of the month I decided not to go too crazy. On my list of places to go were Lush, Urban Outfitters and Topshop. Where I live we don't have Lush or Urban Outfitters so these are two places I always go when I visit a city and I was in need of jeans from Topshop. Anyway, I picked up a couple of bath bombs from Lush whilst Scott went looking for new trainers finding my favourite, Ickle Baby Bot, I also picked up Big Blue and they had Hoppity Poppity left from their easter collection which was simply too cute not to pick up.
(I forgot to take a picture of my food because I was too hungry so this is the best I could do, sorry guys)
The two of us decided to take a break from looking around shops and decide what we actually wanted to purchase and chose to get some dinner. We were originally going to go to Nando's as neither of us have ever been before but we both caved for burgers and chose to go to Five Guys instead. I really enjoyed the food, in fact I took one bite out of my burger and said, 'oh  my god, that is good'. I like the retro diner style to the place and the fact that you can pick what toppings you have on your burger. Scott particularly liked the drinks machine which had vanilla coke - easily pleased. I have been recommending Five Guys to all my friends because it's probably one of the best burgers I've had and it has a nice, relaxed atmosphere to it.

After finishing up eating, we went back to the shops. I picked up two tops from Urban Outfitters and a small present for my mum from Disney store. The top above is one of the tops from Urban Outfitters, I just love the cold shoulder and the detail on the shoulder line, it's a mustard and green triangle stripe, this is also on the back where there is a low V down the back. I'm obsessed with this  t-shirt, it's very flowy and light. Our trip to Urban Outfitters lead to me and Scott deciding to buy a record player the following weekend but that's a post for another day. It was a really nice day together and I always love picking up a few treats for myself.

What have you been up to lately?

BEAUTY: Clinique Pop Lip Colour & Primer

A couple of weeks ago Clinique released they're new collection of Pop Lip Colour & Primer and after browsing the shades last pay day I picked up Melon Pop which is a pale peach colour, it's quite a nude lipstick but a shade that I like to wear an awful lot. The lipsticks are supposed to have a primer within them, which I take for that they're supposed to be long lasting.

(Melon Pop)
(Berry Pop)

I was quite impressed with Melon Pop it was a shade I liked and it did last a long time however it did begin to peel a little after some time. I wasn't too bothered about this anyway, because I do normally reapply lipstick throughout the day. I decided to take the plunge about two weeks ago and pick up another shade of Plum Pop. I saw it the day of their release and I really liked it, but I didn't know how wearable it would be with it being a plum tone, I tend to only wear these sort of shades in autumn/winter. I kept seeing Lily Pebbles talking about it on her channel and wearing it and fell in love with the shade so I took the plunge.

I was a lot more impressed with Plum Pop. The shade is the perfect your lips but better, for me. It's got those more purple/red/pink tone which tends to suit my skin tone a lot better and it's really flattering. It's a nice 'pop' of a colour but still very wearable. Since buying it, it's been the only lipstick that I've been wearing. I am tempted to go back and look through the collection again and possibly pick up another colour. It lasts a long time on the lips and Id didn't feel that this one peeled. It also lasted well through eating and drinking too, which really impressed.

Are you a fan of Clinique'sPop Lip Colour & Primer collection?

BEAUTY: Una Brennan Vitamin C+ Brighten

As I said in this previous post, I've been suffering with dull looking skin at the moment, and so I've been trying out different products in an attempt to get my skin looking a little more glowing. I was in Boots the other day and I was immediately drawn to the Super Facialist by Una Brennan section. I've tried a couple of products from the range and I've really liked them. The brightening face wash really stood out to me, not only because of it's bright orange packaging.
The Vitamin C+ Brighten really stood out to me. I was after a daily face wash anyway as mine had just ran out and so I decided to give this a go. It's a 'gentle daily micro polish wash' and I've really liked it from the first use. It has little exfoliating beads within the wash which has helped to clear up dry patches that I've been getting but it's not too much exfoliation for everyday use. The product is very fresh and citrus in fragrance which I always find tends to wake up in a morning too and making me feel ready for the day. I feel like this face wash really removes any traces of makeup and dirt and leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh.

I have noticed that my skin has been looking a lot brighter since adding this face wash and the Good Things Face Mask into my skin care routine. I'm also no longer having to use my highlighter when applying makeup in the morning which is always a bonus when I wake up late. All in all, I really like this face wash by Una Brennan they have a lot of products out tackling different problems such as dehydrated skin and spots so it's definitely worth checking out the range in Boots as so far I've not been disappointed by the brand.
