MUSIC: Nicky Davey - Been Lovin' You

Nicky Davey are a rock soul duo from LA and have just released their single 'Been Lovin' You', After being contacted about the band and checking them out it's quite obvious why these guys are featured on the latest NOW 57 (American version) compilation album and are in the company of big names such as Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Ellie Goulding and more with the single.

'Been Lovin' You' has a very cool and effortless tone to it, with a voice that reminds me a little of Justin Timberlake meets Adam Levine maybe, they've created an incredibly catchy song which tells the story of someone falling in love and trying to get the girl. It's a very relatable song about loving someone and 'take our time' with growing their relationship. With a slick voice that's very soulful in a pop sound, the guys have created something very unique. It's definitely a pop song but with a unique twist that catches your attention and stands out from everything else available in the charts. The duo have managed to mix an old school sound with modern music to create a beautiful track that will have you singing and dancing along in no time. The duo are also working on new material for an EP set to be released in Spring 2016 which I'll definitely keeping an eye on.

LIFE: Valentine's Day with the Girls

Valentine's Day isn't really a day that I look forward to (unlike pancake day) from a past experience of a first date on Valentine's Day it's been a day I've dreaded for a long time. Not only that but I also don't really like the concept of the day itself, a day to tell someone you love them, well shouldn't we be doing that anyway? The cynic in me simply doesn't agree with the day. But that being said, we all love to be treated and an excuse to celebrate. Valentine's Day can be fun without having to spend a lot of money - though if you want to budget for the big day, check out these financial tools from Personal Capital.  But Valentine's Day isn't far off now, so I best get cracking to it. This is definitely a post for the single ladies out their this year.

I know how crap it can feel to be single on Valentine's Day especially if you're a teenager, believe me I spent years thinking this, but honestly it really doesn't matter. Don't beat yourself up over it because it's just another day. You can still have fun on Valentine's Day without a fella.

Grab a few of your best girl friends and invite them over for a night of pizza, gossiping and movies. You don't have to spend a lot, first off pizza, go to your local supermarket and pick a few frozen pizza's they're usually on offer. Or Domino's pizza usually has meal deals on which actually aren't too bad in price, especially if you're splitting the cost. Try collection too if you are ordering from domino's as their meal deals on pizza tend to be a lot cheaper (can you tell I have an addiction to domino's?). For me, you cannot have a girls night in without a face mask. You can get individual sachets or pick up a full size tube to use afterwards, my favourite is the Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox from boots. You could also try making you're own, here's a link to some recipes to try out.

You've had your pizza, and your face mask now all that's left to do is watch some movies, gossip about boys and have lots of chocolate and nibbles. For me, I always have to watch Valentine's Day on the day itself, or you could have a TV series marathon of Pretty Little Liars, Netflix is very handy, or Scream Queens. None of this costs a lot but you're guaranteed to have a fun night and forget completely about what day it is.

I'll be spending Valentine's Day with Scott, probably doing these exact things and forcing him to have a face mask with me and maybe some more pancakes. How will you be spending Valentine's Day this year?

FASHION: The Perfect Heeled Sandal

I've been hunting for the perfect pair of black heeled sandals for months and months now, and I think I've finally found them. Everyone who knows me knows that I'm a shoe girl. Some people like designer bags or expensive skincare/make up. My love in life is shoes. I simply cannot get enough of them. I have way too many pairs but it's what makes me happy. If I'm ever having a bad day I always look to buy a new pair of shoes (or pyjamas, my second love in life).

I've wanted a pair of black heeled sandals now ever since I bought some pink block heeled sandals from Dorothy Perkins for a friends leaving meal. They were so comfy, I wore them all night and we even went to a couple of clubs/bars and danced a while, they didn't hurt at all and the block heel made them easy to walk in. I decided I was going to buy them in black as soon as I got in, only to my horror they were sold out in my store and online. I tried everywhere for them and couldn't find any at all. I looked for different styles but every time I found some similar they never had my size, I was even looking at designer brands that were way out of my budget in the hope that I would find some similar.

Luckily, I was having one of my moments when I fancied buying something and I saw some black sandals in Miss Selfridge and immediately fell in love with them. They have a strap over the toes, one over the foot and then one around the ankle, keeping your foot very secure in the shoe. The shoes also has a really chunky heel with gold metal on the inside of the heel which adds a nice detail. They were so comfy when I tried them on and my friend in store told me I couldn't leave without them. They were £39 which was a little more than my pink ones but I got my staff discount as well and there was no way I was leaving without them. They are simply perfect.

They're really comfy to walk in because of the chunky heel and look more expensive on, in my opinion, they're also quite a classic look so I don't think they'll go out of fashion any time soon. They look great paired with some skinny jeans as well as with dresses. I just love them. I've had shoes from Miss Selfridge before and they wore really well too. Check out your local store because I can't seem to find them online anymore, there are a lot of similar ones on their website though.
