MUSIC: Tim Schou - Goodbye

On Monday, Tim Schou released his second single, 'Goodbye', and the music video to accompany it. Obviously, I downloaded this as soon as it was available. But that's not all that Tim Schou has done this week. On Wednesday evening he had his Showcase at The Garage in London. Though it killed me not to be there I did listen to the show via Stage It, thanks Christian for keeping us company all evening.
First off, the single. From the previews I knew that 'Goodbye' would have the ability to break my heart. It's one of those songs that really hits home and is incredibly relatable. A lot of atmosphere is created in the song with the music with an almost romanticised air to it which I really love. You also cannot deny the fact that Tim Schou can sing the crap out of the song. His voice seems to get stronger each time he releases something new, plus you can here the emotion behind his voice, particularly when he sings 'sad' you guys know the part. The use of a choir in the final choruses works really well also to create power in the song. I feel like this addition really helps to create the drama and atmosphere to the song.

Not only does the song sound amazing, the lyrics speak volumes too. Tim sings about a love where they 'lost the will to fight' and regretting breaking up with that person. Although the song is powerful that doesn't mean that you won't be singing it non-stop. I cannot get the chorus out of my head and I'm probably annoying everyone that has seen me this week by repeatedly singing it over, only because I can't sing even though I do pretend to be Beyonce too much.

Gutted that I was unable to see Tim Schou at any of the gigs that he was playing this week, I settled with the Stage It show where I could hear the set. Honestly, it sounded amazing which only made me more sad that I wasn't there. But I'm holding out that I'll go to a Tim Schou concert soon. His voice is so powerful and is one of my favourite voices I've heard for awhile. His songs are relatable and you can't help but fall in love with his music. I wish him all the best for the future and cannot wait for an album or more songs to be released because I loved each one that I heard from the gig.

MUSIC: Tim Schou - Supernova Music Video

How many posts can I write about Tim Schou or you see him featured/mentioned in a post? Probably a lot more but I feel like if something is really good you should keep repeating yourself to get your message across. This week Tim Schou released his music video for Supernova in celebration of his birthday. (If you watched his Birthday Stage It show, hi guys.) You all know how much I love the song (if  you haven't seen my blog post here then where have you been...I kid). But today I wanted to share the actual music video.
First off, it's absolutely stunning, it's shot really well and captures some beautiful moments. Surprisingly, I like the use of black and white footage, I like how it separates the dramatised sections of the music video to the performance parts. I also love how the music video relates to the song, there's nothing worse when the two don't fit together, in my opinion. It's cute and makes me fall in love with the song all over again.

MUSIC: Tim Schou - Supernova

My love for Tim Schou started back when he played with 'A Friend In London' for the 2011 Eurovision entering for Denmark with 'New Tomorrow'. I liked how positive the band sounded and began following them. The last year or so has been a bit slow for the band with members leaving to do other things and Tim forming a new band under the same name, but he stated something along the lines of it not feeling right without the rest of the guys. As a fan, this was a little disappointing and you're obviously left with the feeling of what happens next, will we ever hear anything else from this talent? But the answer is yes.
Last week Tim Schou released his debut solo single of 'Supernova'. I didn't really know what to think before listening to it as it's a completely new project and so he had the chance to reinvent himself and create something solely for himself. I was really impressed with the song. I like the delicacy of the verses with both the music of just a piano and his soft almost spoken words. But then his voices grows as does the chorus into much more power and strength. You can really  hear how good of a singer he is through the chorus, there isn't anything that he can hide behind. It's a sweet song, to me. It's the sort of song that you want your boyfriend to write for you. It's simple but completely beautiful and I think what makes this so precious. It's effective in the way it tells a story anyone can relate to.

The lyrics are sweet and showing just how much you care for someone. I love the reference of 'star crossed lovers'. I think we all go through that one relationship or friendship where you're completely attached to someone and you know you'll always love that person regardless. To me, this song sums up that. Whether it's a long distance relationship, a past relationship or you've just had an argument with your partner, this song reminds you of how much you care.

One of the reasons, that I like Tim Schou is not just because he is incredibly talented. But the fact that he interacts with his fans. He's always doing 'Stage It' shows, and I've watched a fair few of them now. He's always answering fans questions and he keeps you a part of his journey, which I like. You can tell he cares about his fans and when you watch him live (I've personally only seen him live through 'Stage It' shows) but you can see how passionate he is about his music and even listening to this song I think you can hear how passionate he is.

Go and check out 'Supernova' by Tim Schou (video below). The song get's a big thumbs up for me, and I cannot wait to hear more from Tim Schou, he deserves so much more recognition but it's nice to see him grow and not giving up.
What did you think? Are you blown away by the simplicity?

MUSIC: A Great Big World Covers

So, in the past few days I've been seeing a lot of covers of A Great Big World's - Say Something popping up on YouTube from some of my favourite artists to YouTubers simply covering the song. The song is one of my favourites that I've heard this year, that's been really popular, for personal reasons, and so I thought I'd write a post of my favourite covers of the song. I must say that I prefer the version of just the band to the version with Christina Aguilera.

First up is Tiffany Alvord's cover. She's done so many covers on her YouTube channel and has such a beautiful voice which is definitely evident in this cover.

Next is another YouTuber, Chester See. He's previously covered songs with Tiffany Alvord and these two are two of my favourite singers on YouTube.

Tim Schou's cover is next. Now, I'm a huge fan of Tim Schou's who was the lead singer of a Danish band, A Friend In London and they even recorded a track featuring Carly Rae Jepson. I could talk all day about him, but I won't because you'll get bored of preaching on about him. Check out his cover below.

Finally, the last cover is by Nina Nesbitt. She is by far my favourite British Singer at the moment and her version is probably the most original out of the ones that I've featured, production wise.

I hope you enjoyed this style of post and if you want to see anymore let me know what songs you'd like to see featured.
